1 Corinthians 16:13 - “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.”

Watchmen is the Men's Ministry which includes our once-a-month gathering of all our men for a meal and time of interaction where they can be strengthened, encouraged, challenged and equipped to take responsibility for own souls, our marriages, families, careers, calling and for the gospel. In this environment, men are challenged to build every part of their lives on the only firm foundation of Jesus Christ, and to relentlessly defend what God has called them to build (i.e. marriage, family, career, ministry, etc.) understanding that our individual flesh patterns, the surrounding culture and Satan himself will conduct an all-out assault on our lives and our loved ones.

Watchmen is about men honestly assessing their own condition and struggles being real about what we are seeing around us. We believe the biblical principle of male headship in the home and in the church is designed by God and rooted in creation (Genesis 2-3, 1 Timothy 2) not just in ancient culture. Therefore, the specific call of God on men applies to all peoples, times and cultures. Men are responsible to lead and accountable to God for the condition of their inner lives, their marriages, their children and their church.

We believe that many of the problems in any human society is the result of men either passively rejecting that responsibility or actively abusing that responsibility. Both of these extremes lead to devastating effects.

At Generations, we are deeply devoted to helping men fulfill the biblical call on their lives, following in the example of the only perfect man and our only example, Jesus Christ. This means we want to call men and lead them into lives defined by humility and service to others (their wives and children in particular). We want to see marriages and whole families experiencing the transformative blessing of godly husbands and fathers and to hold men accountable where they are failing to live as biblical men, submitted to Jesus.
