The church is not where we go, it's who we are. The church is first and foremost the sent people of God on the mission of God.
God has deposited a variety of gifts in each one of you and His desire is to employ those talents and passions to bless others and worship Jesus. Unfortunately, there seems to be a sense of entitlement and consumerism that is pervasive in evangelical circles today. This leads many Christians to believe, at least functionally, that the church exists to serve their needs and desires, which in turn leads churches to create dozens of programs to provide adequate “supply” for the widespread “demands” of their “customers”.
Because the bible calls us to humility, which says “how can I serve others” rather than “serve my needs”, we expect sacrifice and service to flow out of a gospel-centered life. Our responsibility and our heart as a church is to serve you and our city well. Part of how we want to serve you is helping to identify your gifts and release you to serve the Kingdom effectively. The following are opportunities to serve, so if you see an area you want to know more about or if you have a heart to serve in ways not listed here, register for or login to The City and start a conversation... We want to help get you involved.
