Core Values

Great Expectations

Core values are the traits or qualities that are considered worthwhile to pursue as a way of life; they represent an individual’s highest personal commitments.  When shared by a community, core values define deeply held driving forces that shape both personal behavior and the corporate culture.

1) Gospel Faithfulness

For us, everything is centered on Jesus Christ, his sinless life, substitutionary death and subsequent resurrection. Belief in this gospel is what saves, sustains and sanctifies us and it alone can transform the human heart, a marriage, a family, a community and an entire culture.

2) Missional Living

As believers in Christ, every member has the responsibility to serve others above self and to incarnate the gospel in their arenas of influence. Every member is called to serve as a missionary in their unique cultural context.

3) Authentic Community

We are committed to offering support and accountability to one another in the context of authentic, vulnerable, long-term relationships.

4) Extravagant Giving

We are committed to experiencing the grace of God’s provision so that we can be generous toward others at every opportunity. We understand that God often blesses us because he is burdened for other people.

5) Church Multiplication

We desire to expand the kingdom by multiplying churches in other communities (in the US and abroad) rather than simply growing larger in one location.

6) Disproportionate Influence

We believe the Lord wants to use us beyond our natural capacity to achieve “God-sized” goals.  We are ordinary people expecting God to do extraordinary things through us.

To realize our great expectations, we must trust the Father enough to sacrifice and risk everything to advance His kingdom.
